Microplate Sealing Films and Tapes
Andwin Scientific ThermalSeal 2 Film
These improved films for classic thermal cycling applications consist of a 50 µm polyester film with a 41 µm layer of acrylic adhesive. Compared to the original ThermalSeal films (below), ThermalSeal 2 films offer better adhesion, reduced evaporation, longer end tabs for easier handling, and less tendency to tear during removal from the plate. Each sealing film measures 79.4 x 139.7 mm and offers sufficient sealing area for all PCR plates. Length between the perforations with end tabs removed is 125.1 mm. (Not recommended for raised-rim plates; see ThermalSeal A films below.)
Thomas Scientific EZ-Pierce Sealing Film, Non-Sterile
Easily pierceable, 70 µm thick, polyethylene with acrylic adhesive, EZ-Pierce™ sealing films allow direct sample recovery with single or multichannel pipettors and robotic probes. Dimensions are 82.6 by 142.9 mm for 96-well plates.
Research Products International Corp Seal Plate ColorTab Film, Non-Sterile, Assorted Colors, 100/pk
These films feature a color dot and white writing area on each end tab for convenient plate identification. End tab can be left intact even if center of film is removed from plate. Second end tab can be marked and separated for safe keeping. Clear adhesive film prevents sample evaporation. SealPlate ColorTab is a Trademark of Excel Scientific, Inc.
Films are supplied in assorted end tab colors that include: green, orange, red, lavender, and blue.
Alkali Scientific X-Punch™ Pierceable Sealing Film, Sterile, 50/pk
X-Punch™ pierceable sealing film is designed for short-term processing and storage of samples that require multiple access to wells by pipet tips or robotic probes. A pre-cut “X” over each well creates bendable flaps that provide sample access without coring or adhesive fouling of tips or probes. X-Punch has printed circles aid in the alignment of the film to the plate. It also has printed alphanumerics identify each well of a 96-well plate. It is piercable and reseals after piercing for continued sample protection.
Alkali Scientific Xtreme™ 2 High-Strength Sealing Film, Large, 100/pk
Xtreme™ 2 High-Strength Sealing Film an extra-strong thick adhesive to minimize evaporation, yet removes easily without leaving residue on the plate. Features chamfered corners to eliminate plate overhang for robotics applications and tight storage conditions. Certified DNase- & RNase- free. Ideal for use with raised-rim and non-skirted PCR plates.
Alkali Scientific SilverSeal CS™ 50 µm Acrylic Adhesive Sealing Film, 50/pk
SilverSeal CS™ 50 µm Acrylic Adhesive Sealing Film are not recommended for PCR or thermocycling. A single non-perforated end tab simplifies application. Simply hold the tab and strip the backing from the body of the sealing film as it lays on the plate to avoid curling. Dimensions are 82.6 by 132.6 mm, including the single 9.5 mm end tab. SilverSeal CS™ sealing films are certified DNase-, RNase-, and nucleic-acid-free. Certified DNase- & RNase- free. Specially formulated for cold storage to -80°C. Excellent barrier properties to retard evaporation. Easily pierceable with pipet tips or robotic probes for sample recovery.
Alkali Scientific EcoSeal™ Polyester Sealing Film, 100/pk
EcoSeal™ features smaller dimensions and a single non-perforated end-tab to provide a more cost-effective alternative to protect samples from evaporation, external contamination, dust and particulates. Provides a secure seal and is easy to remove. Rigid polyester film features good clarity and easy handling. Can be used as a temporary seal while awaiting further processing.
